Building new towns is complex, requiring strategic planning, funding, infrastructure, and long-term maintenance. Collaboration and early community engagement are essential. Despite existing legal frameworks, government reforms will be needed to overcome delays and local opposition if the plans are to be realised. The New Towns initiative alone won’t solve the housing crisis; but it is a positive step in the right direction.
