Davitt Jones Bould (DJB) is advising Woking Borough Council in connection with the regeneration of Sheerwater.
The real estate law specialists are advising the Council on the Compulsory Purchase Order needed to facilitate the regeneration.
The Sheerwater development will include 984 residential properties, a new retail centre, infrastructure and travel improvements, new community and health centres and other key developments.
The regeneration is critical to Sheerwater with some areas currently within the 14% most deprived areas in the UK.
Peter Bryant, Woking Borough Council’s Head of Democratic and Legal Services, said: “I am delighted that we have instructed one of the leading regeneration law specialists in the UK to support us with the Sheerwater Regeneration Scheme. DJB are highly respected within local government and we look forward to working with them on this exciting regeneration project.”
Malcolm Iley, DJB Group Director and Urban Regeneration specialist, said:
"This is a challenging major project which will require a blend of technical real estate,
public and regeneration law experience which DJB are geared up to provide. This will
complement the excellent in house capability at Woking BC, an intelligent and focussed client."
