Davitt Jones Bould (DJB) has recently completed the acquisition of an iconic London restaurant for TV celebrity chef, Rick Stein (trading as Seafood Trading Ltd (STL)).
The firm advised STL on the purchase of Tideway Restaurants Ltd, The Depot in Barnes. DJB lawyers secured the shares on behalf of STL after Tideway’s Directors decided to retire after 30 years of service to the area. The work included the assignment of the existing lease to STL as well as employment law advice relating to the restaurants existing employees.
The acquisition has been warmly welcomed by the Barnes community as the iconic restaurant will remain open and all of the existing team of 40 staff will be retained.
This is the first London restaurant that STL have acquired after years of public demand for Stein to open a premises there. DJB continues its long term relationship with STL as the group look to build a national portfolio. The firm recently helped STL to open a restaurant in the prestigious Sandbanks area, Bournemouth.
