Katherine is a commercial property expert who is able to advise on the full spectrum of matters including corporate disposals and acquisitions, asset disposals and acquisitions, property finance, landlord and tenant, asset management and development, as well as residential.

 

Prior to joining Davitt Jones Bould, Katherine practised at top law firms, acting for various clients including international investment and development companies, institutional and private office, industrial and retail landlords, office and retail tenants, universities, international insurance companies, PFI companies, NHS Foundation Trusts, local authorities, high street lenders, private lenders and challenger banks, as well as high net worth individuals.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE ​

  • All real estate aspects of Corporate Disposals and Acquisitions. Examples include acting:

    • for a commercial real estate development and investment company on a £350 million corporate sale of part of an office campus in the City of London; and

    • for an international real estate investment company on a £90 million corporate sale of an office development in Mayfair.

  • Asset Disposals and Acquisitions . Examples include acting:

    • for a private developer on the sale of the reversionary interest in recently developed sites in Kings Cross (mixed-use), West Kensington (residential) and St John’s Wood (residential). The West Kensington matter involved the service of section 5 notices both in the UK and abroad pursuant to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987;

    • for a global investment management company on a £39 million acquisition of a university accommodation site in Lincoln subject to lease;

    • for a real estate investment company on a £21 million sale of a commercial property subject to leases in central London; and
      on the sale of part of The Royal London Hospital site and six leasebacks.

  • Property Finance. Examples include acting:

    • as part of a team for a private developer on a £130 million refinancing of a site in Hackney;

    • for a real estate investment company on a £35 million facility secured over various multi-let properties on Kings Road, Chelsea; and

    • for a high street lender on a £22 million refinancing secured over nine mixed-use and four residential properties.

  • Landlord and Tenant/Asset Management. Examples include acting:

    • for a private real estate investment firm in connection with the pre-letting of restaurant and retail space in a new development on Piccadilly (with annual rents in the region of £1.5 million);

    • for a private real estate investment firm in connection with the letting of office space in a newly refurbished headquarters building in Kensington (with annual rents in the region of £2 million);

    • for one of the largest commercial real estate investment companies in connection with a complex agreement for surrender and various leasebacks plus lease regears and the grant of reversionary leases in EC4;

    • for the landlord of Tower 42 and other multi-let properties in connection with all letting and property management matters; and
      for the University of Oxford as tenant in connection with a new lease of land at John Radcliffe Hospital to enable the development of a major new research facility.

  • Development. Examples include acting:

    • for one of the largest commercial real estate development companies on the redevelopment of a site just off Fleet Street and a site on the South Bank;

    • for a private developer on a £13.5 million acquisition of an old sorting office in Islington, being acquired for mixed-use redevelopment; and

    • for a private developer on a £12.7 million joint venture acquisition of a site in Clapham, being acquired for mixed-use redevelopment.

  • Residential. Examples include acting:

    • for a local authority on the acquisition of multiple residential properties within a short space of time; and 

    • for high net worth individuals on the acquisition of prime London residential properties.
