Henry is a construction and engineering law specialist, able to advise on  drafting, negotiating and on all forms of construction documentation including professional appointments, building contracts, collateral warranties, third party rights; third party security and supply agreements. Henry can also provide advice on construction disputes.

Additionally, Henry has experience in  procurement matters including pre-contract advice on the form of documentation to be used and any pre-contract arrangements. Henry also has experience in property and finance matters, for example providing advice on construction aspects of property and finance documentation.  Henry can also provide advice on party wall issues including special foundations and support agreements, drafting and negotiating scaffolding and crane over-sailing agreements.

  • Various hotel developments including following the insolvency of the original main contractor.

  • A £20 million industrial development in the Midlands.

• Advising a secondary school on the construction documentation for various projects including new teaching and sports facilities.

• Advising ultra-high-net-worth clients on the construction documentation for various privately commissioned residential development projects.

• Advising main contractors in relation to:

  • Bespoke building contract documentation.

  • The appointment documentation of consultants appointed by it.

• Advising subcontractors in relation to bespoke sub-contract documentation.

• Advising consultants on their appointment documentation, including documentation provided to them by developers.

• Advising various funders on the construction aspects of development finance documentation, and subsequently on the documentation to be used for development projects.

• Advising parties acquiring or leasing property in relation to the related construction documentation, including advising a tenant on the construction documentation for the development for it of a £50 million warehouse in the West Midlands.

• Advising developers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants on the effects of the Building Safety Act, associated legislation and drafting and negotiating construction documentation which is compliant with such legislation.
