Christopher is a commercial property specialist with over 29 years experience. He is able to advise on the full spectrum of commercial property matters including acquisitions, disposals and developments.
During his career, Christopher has advised various clients spanning the real estate sector, some of his highlights include acting for the UK Government on its agreement with Canary Wharf Group for the development of a new Crossrail station and associated retail centre at the Isle of Dogs as part of the £16 billion Crossrail Project; acting for JPMorgan Chase on its pre-let agreement to sublease HQ office premises at 125 London Wall to law firm Nabarro; and advising the REIT as purchaser on the real estate aspects of the first cross-border REIT in Asia, Fortune REIT, involving the establishment of the REIT in Singapore which acquired five shopping malls in Hong Kong from Cheung Kong valued at £250 million.

Acting for SwissCom on the sale and leaseback of its operational real estate portfolio across Switzerland which raised US$1.5 billion on over 200 properties.

Acting for Quintain on the regeneration of Wembley Park.

Acting for Matheson & Co on restructuring its occupational premises in the City of London.

Acting for The Link REIT in Hong Kong’s first, and the then world’s largest, REIT which involved the HK$34 billion government privatisation of 180 retail and car parking facilities.

Acting on the acquisition of five marinas at Port Solent, Chichester, Falmouth, Guernsey and Brighton (through acquiring Premier Marinas Limited) on behalf of Raglan Properties plc.

Acting for the Onyx joint venture between Blackstone and M7 on their on-going programme of acquisitions of logistics centres, together with associated financing.

Appointed by the real estate counsel of Merrill Lynch in New York to act for Merrill Lynch on the restructuring of their Hong Kong headquarters leases and on their lease of new premises in Shanghai.

Acting for Lendlease on the £2 billion regeneration of Elephant & Castle.

Acting for lenders Deutsche Pfandbriefbank and Lloyds Bank in relation to a number of property loan finance transactions.

Acting for Novartis on the international real estate aspects of its US$7.1 billion sale of its vaccines business to GlaxoSmithKline and of the US$275m sale of its influenza business to CSL.

Acting for PricewaterhouseCoopers on the pan-Asian real estate aspects of its disposal to IBM of PWC Consulting which involved real estate disposals in 8 Asian jurisdictions.

Acting for RBS on the real estate aspects of its proposed £1.65 billion sale of its RBS England and Wales and NatWest Scotland business at 318 branches and of its £2.025 billion disposal of its Global Merchant Services division.
