The reclamation and reuse of brownfield sites is a core component of the UK Sustainable Strategy. There is roughly the equivalent of 100,000 football pitches worth of Brownfield land in England. Brownfield land could potentially provide nearly 1.5 million dwellings in the UK. It is therefore the Governments target to ensure 90% of brownfield sites have planning permission by 2020 (Gov.uk)
